HEMINGWAY—Employees of the Department of Health and Environmental Control, DHEC, were at Wise Pharmacy in Hemingway on Feb. 5, where they conducted a special clinic to administer the HINI Flu shots to members of the community.

The clinic was open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the shots were free. When asked about the charges, Nurse, Fran Long, said, “There is no charge. This is some of your federal tax money working for you.”
Long said they had a great turnout and that there was a line waiting for DHEC workers when they arrived at the pharmacy that morning. Barring a slower period during the lunch hour, things were relatively busy throughout the day. The clinic was open for walk-ins and appointments were not necessary.
