HARTSVILLE - One person is dead after an early-morning crash near Hartsville.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the one-car crash happened around 12:20 a.m. Friday on Hillcrest Road.
Troopers say the driver of the car ran off the side of the road, overcorrected, and then hit a tree.
Darlington County Coroner Todd Hardee identified the victim as Russell Wade Steen, 31.
Steen died shortly after midnight according to Hardee.
An autopsy will not be performed.
