KINGSTREE -- A Kingstree man was sentenced to 30 years in prison after he was found guilty of impregnating an 11-year-old girl and pleaded guilty to impregnating a teen girl, Kingstree Police Chief Robert Ford said.
Kevin Bradley, 20, was convicted of first-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor during a two-day trial before 3rd Circuit Court Judge Clifton Newman and sentenced to 25 years in prison.
Bradley also pleaded guilty to second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor and received an additional five years in prison.
Bradley was convicted in late January of impregnating an 11-year-old last year.
The victim, as well as law enforcement and forensic examiners in the case, testified during the trial.
Police began investigating the case Aug. 14 when they were summoned to a local physician’s office where the victim was brought by her grandmother. An examination at the office determined the girl was about two months pregnant, Ford said.
The pregnancy did not come to term and the child was never born.
The case developed further in October when it was discovered the suspect might be the father of a 16-year-old girl’s 2-year-old child.
Bradley was charged with second-degree criminal sexual conduct in in that case because the victim was older than 11 when the crime was committed.
The case was prosecuted by 3rd Circuit Assistant Solicitor Kim Parr.
