CONWAY - The fire station where a medic unit caught fire Tuesday night is back in service. Horry County Fire Rescue Station 23 is located on Victory Lane near Horry-Georgetown Technical College, off of Highway 501. An ambulance caught fire while at the station about 8:00 p.m., causing the four fireman manning that station to be displaced for the night.

The firefighters went to two different stations for their duties Tuesday. But, as of Wednesday morning, Station 23 is back in service.

It is not known at this time what caused the unit to catch on fire, but no one was injured and there was no damage done to the actual fire station.

Conway Fire Rescue helped put the fire and out. Authorities are still investigating what started the fire.
