Small Paws Pet Shop in Mullins offered a pet nutrition seminar to members of the community on Saturday, Aug. 28.
Representative for Hills Pet Nutrition, a pet nutrition and healthcare company dedicated to help pets reach their full potential though food, Kami Baldyga was the speaker at the seminar.
Owners of Small Paws Pet Shop in Mullins, JoAn Huggins Jenkins and husband Arthur Jenkins, said they had attended a seminar elsewhere earlier in the year and heard a Hills representative speak on the Science Diet pet food and decided they wanted the people of Mullins to have the same opportunity.
“It’s (Science Diet pet food) recommend by a lot of veterinarians and some times it’s really hard to find,” said JoAn Huggins Jenkins. “Since we are in such a small town we thought it would be beneficial to our customers her in Mullins.”
Baldyga said a lot pet food companies say their pet food is better because they have meat in them or they do not have grain in them, but there is no evidence those things are better for a pet.
“Hills Science Diet is a premium pet food company,” Baldyga said. “They (Hills Pet Nutrition) manufacture dog and cat food for neighborhood pet stops and veterinary pet clinics.”
