MYRTLE BEACH – Bond was denied Monday morning for a North Myrtle Beach man who was arrested and charged with DUI after his involvement with a wreck Saturday night.

Myrtle Beach police Captain David Knipes said Victor Mazariego-Gomez was driving under the influence when he collided with another vehicle at the 33rd Avenue North and Kings Highway intersection.

Deputy Coroner Tamara Willard said Dragan Simic, 40, of Alexandria, Virginia died from multiple trauma suffered in the wreck.

Willard said the victim was originally from Bosnia.

The wreck is still under investigation, while Mazariego-Gomez is being held at J. Reuben Long Detention Center.
