Three hospitalized in Longs shooting; police look for witnesses

Horry County police are investigating a shooting incident that sent three people to area hospitals Tuesday night.

LONGS – Three people were injured in a shooting incident Tuesday night in a neighborhood near Longs.

Horry County officers responded to a shooting on Plantation Drive near Longs about 6:30 p.m., Sgt. Robert Kegler, Horry County Police Department spokesman, said in a release issued by the department.

One person with multiple gunshot wounds was transported to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center and is listed in critical condition, according to the release.

Investigators found that two other victims were taken to area hospitals to be treated for wounds suffered in the incident. One was treated and released from Conway Regional Medical Center and the other is listed in stable condition at Loris Community Medical Center.

Horry County police said they think the three victims are connected to the Plantation Drive incident.

Officers are looking for any information or witnesses to the shootings. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Horry County Police Department at (843) 915-5350, or call the anonymous tips line at (843) 915-TIPS.
