One dead, two questioned after Conway home invasion

Horry County police are investigating a shooting death on Wayside Road near Conway.

CONWAY -- Horry County police are questioning two people in connection with a deadly home invasion near Conway Wednesday afternoon.

Sgt. Robert Kegler said the incident happened about 1:15 p.m. at 3140 Wayside Road near Conway, where three suspects entered the home.

Kegler said an altercation began with the homeowner and suspects. Police say the homeowner shot one of them and the other suspects left the scene in a blue sport utility vehicle.

The man who was shot died; his identity has not been released at this time. Kegler said the homeowner was not injured, but does not know if any charges will be filed against him.

Police later located the SUV near Loris. They are questioning a man and a woman in connection with this case.
