Horry County Police investigate early morning store robbery

CONWAY - The Horry County Police Department is investigating a robbery that occurred early Friday morning at a local convenience store.

According to a news release, officers responded around 3 a.m. to the Kangaroo store located at 4625 Dick Pond Rd. in reference to a robbery.

Once they arrived, the clerk told officer that she was outside the store in the parking lot when she was approached by two male suspects. The suspects forced her back into the store, demanding money from her.

The suspects took an unknown amount of money from the register and several packs of cigarettes before fleeing the store on foot, the release said. Both suspects were wearing black clothing and had their faces and heads covered
