MYRTLE BEACH -- Many people were looking to improve their businesses at an art and technical conference Saturday in Myrtle Beach.
CREATE South, which stands for 'Carolina Regional Exposition of Art, Technology, and Education held a series of seminars Saturday at the Grand Strand campus of Horry-Georgetown Technical College.
Experts taught the importances of blogging, and using social media to improve business strategies.
Classes for art and photography were also offered.
"We're encouraging creative people to think of themselves as entrepreneurs in a business of one,” said event organizer, David Slusher. Your art is a startup business and if you can get the word out and get people, you could maybe make a living at this, if people can find out about your art."
"Communities need a way to connect with each other nearby,” said Ava Ann Vrooman with CREATE South. “So within Myrtle Beach, Conway, Socastee, North Myrtle [Beach], we want to people to realize there are people with similar interests that can connect with each other to really achieve their goals and dreams."
The tech conference was free and open to the public.
