It was no ordinary day for a 5th-grader at St. Michael Catholic School in Garden City.
The school surprised Patrick Golden with a trophy for winning an international free-throw competition. The Knights of Columbus hosted the competition for boys and girls, ages 10-14, across the United States and Canada earlier this year.
St. Michael Catholic School held an assembly Wednesday afternoon recognizing Patrick. Basketball players from Coastal Carolina University were also there to congratulate him.
