Myrtle Beach police arrested a Myrtle Beach mayoral candidate for drunk driving over the weekend.
According to Capt. David Knipes, officers stopped Beatrice Catalano around 9:00 p.m. Friday, and arrested her for driving under the influence.
Capt. Knipes said Catalano was released from jail on Saturday morning.
Catalano, who is a former chairperson of the Horry County Democratic Party, announced earlier this summer she is running for Myrtle Beach mayor.
