Four people were taken to the hospital Sunday night after a crash that closed a major highway at the beach.
Myrtle Beach police said the crash happened at the intersection of 33rd Avenue North and Highway 17 bypass, just after 7 p.m.
Police said a car driving on 33rd Avenue North crossed over 17 Bypass into traffic and collided with an SUV. According to police, the car, a convertible was t-boned by the SUV and two people in the car were ejected after the car spun around.
Southbound 17 bypass was closed for about two hours due to the crash.
Police said the driver of the convertible was given a ticket for failing to yield.
