FLORENCE -- It's been a little more than a week since two people were shot and killed in Florence County. Deputies found the bodies of Talya Poston and Billy L. Hall on a dirt road just before noon last Tuesday, both had gunshot wounds.
Though authorities will not speculate as to how the bodies got there, they do say it was a double homicide.
They were found on Isaiah street, which is just off of Flowers Road near Pamplico Highway. Both Poston and Hall lived in Florence.
Florence County Coroner Bubba Matthews said the autopsy shows that both were shot to death.
Both Poston and Hall were well known in Florence and both were the children of local business owners.
Those who knew the couple, were baffled as to why anyone would take their lives.
Their killer or killers have not yet been caught.
On Friday, deputies say they found the Green, Ford Explorer they searched for in connection to the case. They found the vehicle off of First Street in East Florence. Investigators said someone burned it, pretty much, down to its frame.
Authorities said the Explorer belonged to one of the victims.
Investigators have gone completely over the vehicle, searching for evidence.
Family members of one of the victims are speaking about the tragedy, and what their lives have been like since the slayings.
Several of Talya Poston's family members say they either saw or spoke with her early last Tuesday morning.
Then, they had no idea of the events that would play out before them, just hours later.
"I thought she was a beautiful girl and such a sweet girl, and I guess I was about the last one that saw her," said Jeannette Rowell, Talya Poston's grandmother.
Since the discovery of Poston and Halls' bodies, the families have tried to come to grips with why anyone would harm them.
"I no longer have my niece, who is like my daughter to me, I no longer can make plans with her anymore," said Talya Poston's aunt, Debbie Ross.
Talya's family says she was a loving young woman, who was gifted in dealing with animals, and in addition to leaving behind two small dogs, she most importantly left behind a 14 year old son.
Now her family is left wondering why anyone would take a mother away from her child, a daughter away from her mother, and an innocent young woman, away from the world.
"Whoever decided to snuff out the lives of two young people, it's just a matter of time...they're already caught in the eyes of God, but it's just a matter of time that these person or persons, will be found," Ross said.
Poston and Halls' families are now looking for the public to provide some insight on the case, and hopefully, some closure.
Florence County investigators say they are working around the clock and following up on every lead.
Deputies continue to comb over the Ford Explorer that was set on fire in an attempt to hide evidence.
Despite the fire, Florence County Sheriff's Office Capt.Mike Nunn said evidence taken from the vehicle is helping investigators follow-up on some of those leads.
In the meantime, authorities are asking anyone with information to contact either the sheriff's office at 843-665-2121 or Crimestoppers of the Pee Dee at 1-866-369-8477.
Crimestoppers is offering up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest in the case and you can remain anonymous.
