One person is dead after an early morning wreck on Thursday.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, it happened around 12:30 a.m. on Highway 319 in Horry County.

Troopers say a vehicle headed south on the highway ran off the side of the road, then struck a driveway culvert and a utility pole.

The driver, a 26-year-old man from Longs, was thrown from the vehicle, and died. Troopers say he was not wearing a seat belt.

Two passengers were also in the vehicle, and both were taken to area hospitals.
