A Bucksport man was killed Thursday at the new boat landing in Georgetown in a construction accident.
Thomas Grainger, 43, died when a crane boom that was not properly secured fell on him during disassembly, said Georgetown Corner Kenny Johnson.
The accident happened at 12:22 p.m. and Grainger was pronounced dead at the scene.
Grainger had two broken legs. An autopsy will be preformed at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center Friday morning.
