A Hartsville High School assistant football coach and social studies teacher was arrested for solicitation.
According to a press release, Rick Ostrander was arrested in August. As a result, he resigned from his coaching and teaching duties.
Ostrander, a 30-year coaching veteran who served as the team’s defensive coordinator, had been at Hartsville High School for one year.
“Coach Ostrander’s resignation brought an appropriate resolution to an unfortunate situation,” said Dr. Charlie Burry, principal of the school.
“We were able to hire an outstanding social studies teacher to fill Coach Ostrander’s classroom vacancy and our current coaching staff absorbed his coaching responsibilities.”
