CONWAY - Theatre of the Republic has announced that its 40th Anniversary Gala, October 24th at 6:30 pm, will feature entertainment provided by local theatre talent.
In news release from Marketing Strategies, Inc., the black-tie-optional evening will take place at Pendleton Place in Tabor City, North Carolina, the weekend home of Gala Host and Hostess Joe Garrell and Kathy Foxworth, and will include ‘libations, heavy hors d’oeuvres and Broadway’.
Veteran Theatre of the Republic actors and actresses, who have been entertaining audiences for decades, will perform live Broadway musical selections of song and dance throughout the evening.
According to Garrell, “This event celebrates 40 years of live theatre in Horry County. The Theatre of the Republic has earned quite a name entertaining guests from not only Horry and Georgetown counties in South Carolina, but Brunswick and Columbus Counties in neighboring North Carolina as well. Net proceeds from the Gala will be used by the Theatre to support, maintain, and upgrade its facilities to better enable it to provide high quality, little theatre community services.”
The Gala, planned under the watchful eye of Garrell’s partner in business and life; seasoned event planner, Kathy Foxworth, has been billed as the social event of the year. Preparations including not only the entertainment, but the décor and menu, have been ongoing for more than six months.
