Lt. Governor André Bauer will host a forum for Medicare beneficiaries at the Conway Community Senior Center on Friday.
According to a press release Bauer will hear from seniors about Medicare coverage and their concerns about the potential impact health care reform on their benefits.
The forum will be the first in a series intended by Lt. Governor Bauer to ensure seniors have a voice on the topic of healthcare reform. Experts on Medicare and senior health from the Office on Aging will be on hand to meet one on one with seniors. They will be able to answer questions concerning the various types of plans, coverage, and the upcoming open enrollment period for Medicare that will start in November.
“There is much talk about healthcare reform right now, but most of it is talking and not listening to the people’s concerns. I hope that seniors will come out to the Medicare Forum on Friday and share what they are thinking with us," Bauer said.
The Medicare Forum will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Conway Community Senior Center located at 1519 Mill Pond Road.
There are more than 45,000 citizens in Horry County currently receiving Medicare benefits according to recent estimates.
