Laurel Hill man dies after tree-falling accident

A day's work turned deadly when part of a tree fell on the man cutting it Thursday afternoon.
Maj. Howard Branch with the Robeson County Sheriff's Office said Robert Walters, 45, died from the accident.
He said Walters was trimming a tree on Jam Drive in Parkton around 12:15 p.m., when the tree fell on him.
Branch said Walters was working for the company he owns, Robert's Tree Service out of Laurel Hill, when this happened.
Walters died at the scene from injuries sustained from the incident. His death has been ruled accidental.
