The battle to fix our broken insurance system has reached a decisive point. We must not let Republican distortions, scare tactics and cynicism derail this historic reform. We can and must stop the insurance industry lobbyists and their Republican allies from deterring our best hope for affordable, accessible health care for all Americans.
The Republican party has used phony cries of “Death panels,” “Socialism” and worse to frighten and confuse people. They have deliberately targeted senior citizens the hardest and it is a sad day for any American to do this.
Backed by millions of dollars of special interest campaign contributions, there is no line that Republicans will not cross to embarrass or defeat President Barack Obama’s reform. Any attempts for bipartisan cooperation have been thwarted by the “No party.” Democrats are aggressively standing up to their tactics and rebutting their ridiculous claims.
The Republicans do not care about the American families who cannot afford basic health care. They just say “Go to the ER!!” WE all know that that costs more and delays treatment. Republicans don’t care about the millions of Americans living just one illness or one accident away from economic disaster for their family.
The GOP agenda has always been about power, political gain and their money. In recent years, it has gotten worse to include trying to increase the divide and even putting their country second, maybe third. We voted for change and we are getting it in spite of their greed and in some instances, ignorance.
The Public Option will set back the insurance cartels and probably cost a lot of lobbyists their jobs — they can go to the ER!!!!!
Call or write your Congressional representatives and demand that they support the reform bill now. There are other things to work on.
We are winning — keep the faith.
