JOHNSONVILLE—Saturday, October 10, was a special day at Cheri and Company in Johnsonville. Classes began at 2:00 p.m. and were taught by Hip-Hop Master Teacher, Christopher Robbins. Robbins lives in Myrtle Beach and has worked throughout the United States and other countries on various stage shows, television, radio, and magazines.

Robbins has even spent time working for Walt Disney's production of 'Tarzan Rocks' and 'Beauty and the Beast'. At the New York City Dance Alliance in 2002, 2003, and 2006, his choreography won "Judges Critics Choice Award". He has also won Male Performer of the Year with Starlight/LA and was VIP winner Dance Olympus.

Robbins keeps busy with a number of ventures, including jobs as a dancer, choreographer, singer, and aerobics and swimming instructor. "I love it all", he said. The Artistic Director of Eclatez Dance Company and CRDance, a professional dance company, Robbins said he is mostly concerned that his students do their best. "All I ask of my students is that they pay attention, do their best, and give 100%," he said. Robbins started Saturday's class with a vigorous warm-up routine, which soon had the girls warmed up, stretched out, and ready to dance. After the warm-up, they sat quietly with their eyes closed to cool down. Robbins walked around the class and urged them to breathe slowly and to think about nothing but positive things. He told them to focus on releasing all negativity. Robbins implored each one to encourage, inspire, and applaud one another and to always be positive. "This will help you to grow as a dancer and a human being," he told them. "The class was a challenge for us," one of the girls said, "but it was a lot of fun."
