Cooks for Christ to have chicken bog benefit

»  Comments | Post a Comment

A chicken bog benefit for Ronnie Poston sponsored by the Cooks for Christ will be Thursday at the West Florence Fire Station on Pineneedles Road.

Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. and dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Plates of bog, green beans, slaw and bread are $6 each. Lunch and dinner can be delivered for orders of seven plates or more. A bake sale will be held, too.

Poston, a Shriner, was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis in March 2008. The disease progressed rapidly since January, and he learned he wasn't a candidate for a lung transplant before he recently died in hospice care.

Cooks for Christ is raising funds to offset the medical expenses incurred during Poston’s illness.

For additional information, contact Max or Pat Gulledge at (843) 662-6074 or Judy Moody at (843) 229-6284.
