»  Comments | Post a Comment

The Arts Council of Marion County sponsored a two-part Fall Arts Festival this past Friday and Saturday. The art show featuring South Carolina artists was held at Charlin's Shed in Marion and was hosted by Chuck and Linda Wiegert.

The show included paintings, sculptures, photography, and jewelery, running through the weekend.

On Saturday evening, the Arts Council presented an "Evening of Music". Singers, guitar and banjo players, along with a steel drum band performed at the Opera House in downtown Marion for audience members.

The Fall Arts Festival will become an annual event, hosted every October and hopes the event will grow with each year.

Upcoming events planned by the Arts Council include a poetry reading planned for February, and a spring Evening of Music, planned for April.
