Softball continues at Byerly Park

In the co-ed softball league, Celebrities won the 2009 Lower Bracket Tournament. They beat the Castaways 8-2 in the championship game Tuesday night. The Upper Bracket Championship game pits the Mudhole Stompers against Chix & Stix at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

The fall softball league is underway at Byerly as well with games beginning at 7 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. There are nine men’s teams and five ladies’ teams. Regular season games will continue through Nov. 12 followed by playoffs.

On Monday in the women’s league, Stephanie’s Tax Service beat Lady Renegades 19-9 and Ivana’s Fitness beat Slammers 17-5.

On the men’s side on Monday, the Gators defeated the Rippers 20-1; Palmetto Outdoors defeated the Giants 18-4; Renegades defeated the Dream Team 15-1 and Dew Crew defeated Lunatics 23-10.

Anyone in interested in participating in the co-ed league next year should call (843) 383-3020. The co-ed league begins in mid to late June.
