A team from the Savannah River Site stopped in Florence Thursday for the Road to Recovery tour.

The tour provides information on job training, employment assistance programs and also provides assistance to potential applicants on remaining positions with the Savannah River Site provided by the Recovery Act.

The team set up at the One Stop Employment Office on West Evans Street in Florence.

The tour is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy.

Team members say they helped job applicants learn how to better access job opportunities and state opportunities through State and Federal Programs such as the Workforce Investment Act.

Team members also gave participants hands-on tips and experience in job interviewing skills, taught them how to navigate online job search engines and secure free e-mail account services for their online job searches and provided them with information on building a successful resume.

The Road to Recovery Tour also involved team members sharing information with applicants about how they could apply for a Recovery Act job at the Savannah River Site.
