Former Bennettsville Mayor Lucy Mills Parsons will speak on solid waste at the next meeting of the League of Women Voters of the Pee Dee Area.
It will be at 5:30 p.m. Monday in the Poynor Room of St. John’s Episcopal Church, 252 S. Dargan St., Florence.
Parsons is among those leading the opposition to the proposed so-called “megadump” in the Marlboro County town of Wallace, located along the border of the Carolinas.
