LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Thank goodness for Social Security

»  Comments | Post a Comment

Thank goodness for Social Security. Without it, most senior citizens would not have an income.

Each year we’re supposed to get a cost of living increase. But not beginning 2010, which is supposed to last for 3 years. Why are we being singled out the people who need it more than anyone?

The last part of 2008 and in 2009 we received rebates. Are they trying to get this back? The government has bailed out the banks, car manufacturers and car dealers with a $4,500 if you traded in your old car.

They must be going to use our increase to offset the bailouts. The cost of living always goes up each year. Whoever decided to not give the increase must not buy gas or grocery shop.

So how about giving us senior citizens a bail out?
