Fifth St. Featuring children’s balloon inflated playground, horse and buggy rides, barbecue plates, $7 per plate, and an outdoor gospel singing at 5 p.m. Featured singers will be the Pine Ridge Singers, Clyde Church of God Eternal Rescue Youth, Hearts of Praise Choir and Southern Harmony, all of Hartsville. Reach Another for Christ Everyday: Noon to 6 p.m. Sunday at Darlington Raceway. The Hartsville District of the United Methodist Church is hosting Reach Another for Christ Everyday (R.A.C.E.) at the Darlington Raceway. The afternoon events will be a lunch from 1 to 2 p.m., inspiration through WOW (Worship of the Word) from 2 to 4 p.m. and music, entertainment and praise moments from 4 to 6 p.m. The Rev. Kenneth Timmerman of the First United Methodist Church in Myrtle Beach will share the word. Special music will include gospel, bluegrass, contemporary and traditional. There will be inflatables for the children, a fire smokehouse for safety training, blood pressure screenings and more. A trackside meal is available for $5. Other activities and admission is free. Dispelling Myths and Finding Hope in the Bible’s Most Difficult Book: 11 a.m. to noon and 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays through Dec. 15. Pastor Phil Thrailkill of St. Luke United Methodist will teach 16 sessions. The teaching method used will be a scripture sheet laying out the structure of the passage, followed by a lecture on the history, rhetoric and theological insights of the text.

Open Prayer: Noon to 2 p.m. Wednesdays at the Wesley United Methodist Church sanctuary, corner of College Avenue and Fourth Street. All are welcome to come in and pray. This is a time of personal prayer; no program is planned. The community is invited to just come and sit or kneel at the altar and open their hearts to God.
