Georgetown County Sheriff’s investigators have charged Tevin Jermal Palmer , 17, Roderick Taron Weaver, 20, Terrance Jermaine Palmer, 30, and 31-year-old Kevin Tyrone Palmer, 31, for a home invasion that occurred on the evening of October 13, 2009 at 380 Kearson Drive in the Knox Swamp Community of Georgetown County.

Tuesday evening at approximately 8:30, the victim was in his residence at 380 Kearson Drive when he heard someone knocking at the door and calling him by his nickname. The victim went to the door and as soon he opened the door, he was struck in the head with a handgun by one of the suspects.

After being struck in the head, the victim went back inside the house and the suspects followed him in the residence. Once inside the residence, the suspects tied the victim up, blind folded him, and made the victim lay on the floor. When the suspects left the residence, with an undisclosed amount of money, the victim was able to get up and go to a neighbor’s residence for help.

When sheriff’s deputies arrived, they requested the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office Bloodhound Team and sheriff’s investigators. Once the GCSO Bloodhound Team was requested, sheriff’s deputies were on a secure perimeter when a white Ford Explorer was in the area and refused to stop. A short chase ensued ending on Falsebox Drive with the suspects fleeing from the vehicle. The GCSO Bloodhound Team then responded to that location and tracked one of the suspects to a residence on Falsebox Drive where Terrance Palmer was arrested after locating him under the residence.

While at the residence on Falsebox Drive, sheriff’s deputies received information that three males entered an abandoned residence in the area of Hanna Loop and Falsebox Drive. After arriving at the abandoned residence, sheriff’s deputies could hear the suspects inside and called for them to come out. Upon refusing to come out, sheriff’s deputies entered the residence and arrested Tevin Palmer, Roderick Weaver, and Kevin Palmer. These suspects were also the additional three in the fleeing vehicle.

During the investigation on the evening of October 13, 2009 and the day of October 14, 2009, sheriff’s investigators were also able to link all four of these suspects to the home invasion through evidence collected from the suspects, the abandoned residence and statements from witnesses.

All four suspects were charged with Burglary 1st, Armed Robbery, Assault and Battery with the Intent to Kill, and Kidnapping for the home invasion. In addition to the home invasion charges, Terrance Palmer was charged with Hindering and Obstructing, Kevin Palmer was charged with Possession of Cocaine, Simple Possession of Marijuana, Failure to Stop for a Blue Light, Trespassing, and No Drivers License, Tevin Palmer was charged with Trespassing, and Roderick Weaver was charged with Hindering and Obstructing and Trespassing.

All four suspects are currently being held at the Georgetown County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
