I can’t speak for everyone, but I can for my family and I when I say that I know what it is like trying to make ends meet and scraping up nickels and dimes to pay for medical costs. Both of my kids have asthma and my daughter was declared moderately deaf from birth. With that being said, no one would give insurance because of her pre-existing conditions and this is just not right. The insurance that I currently have is so expensive that I just work to keep us insured. I strongly back up President Barack Obama’s plan. The plan that he has before us is for everyone to be able to afford coverage and it is a shame to see that we as Americans that are supposed to be united are divided. The wealthy don’t understand what it is like to be a parent/caregiver and not be able to provide just the necessities for your loved ones, and to have to see them suffer and not be able to do nothing about it is heartbreaking to say the least.
I served my country and if I had to do it again, I would without thinking twice about it. There are many like me who have fought this war so that we as Americans can continue to live our cushion lives and not have to live in constant fear from one minute to the next. Then to decide it is our turn to sit back and enjoy what we fought so hard for and not be able to get it is a constant reminder that America is spoiled and ungrateful when it comes to unity.
As the Bible says, “What profit a man to gain the whole world (money and the riches thereof) and lose his soul”? I love being an American, but I’m ashamed of the fact that we are not equal. For those of you that oppose the President’s health plan shame on you and God be with you.
