Electrical issues still impacting ESAB, some employees to stay home

»  Comments | Post a Comment

ESAB Welding and Cutting in Florence began experiencing electrical issues on Monday and is still not operating as normal. Some employees were asked not to report to work on Tuesday, and the same goes for Wednesday.

Eric Bingaman, Human Resources manager, says employees should follow these guidelines:

  • 1st-shift hourly and salaried production workers do not need to report to work on Wednesday.
  • 2nd-shift hourly and salaried production workers do not need to report to work on Wednesday.
  • Office employees should report to work as normal on Wednesday.

Bingaman says a weather-related issue may have caused the electrical issues. A backup generator is providing some power to the facility. No word on when electricity may be restored, but a number of crews are working to repair it.
