A 29-year-old Cades man died after a car accident Thursday evening.
Troopers say it happened around 6:00 p.m. on Maxie Thomas Road near Lake City.
Investigators believe the car was travelling north towards Moore Street when the driver lost control, ran off the right side of the road, over-corrected, and ran off the left side of the road, and into some trees.
According to authorities, the driver died at the scene.
Florence County Deputy Coroner Don Reynolds identifies the driver as John Clarence Lee, Jr.
Troopers say the only passenger in the car was transported to a local hospital.
