Brothers Teak and Trent Collins have a vision that, they hope, combined with the new Myrtle Beach boardwalk project, could transform their business and the south end of the beach.

The Collins own the Lighthouse Motel and the 2nd Avenue Pier. Once they get full approval from city planners, the Collins say they will raze the motel on Ocean Boulevard, and re-build a new motel and retail space in it's spot, along with overhauling the pier and attached restaurant.

"Especially in this day and time with the economy, it was a no-brainer, really for the future," said Trent Collins.

The boardwalk construction is expected to be complete in time for next summer, and the city is hoping for total revitalization along the waterfront.

"This right here will be a destination," said Collins. "Since the Pavilioin's been gone, it's been kind of desolate down here," he said.

The Collins hope to begin work as early as December.
