A teenager faces two counts of felony driving under the influence after an accident early Sunday morning in Myrtle Beach.
According to Myrtle Beach Police Capt. David Knipes, 17-year-old Laodicea Phillips is charged with two counts of driving under the influence resulting in great bodily injury, and one count of disregarding a traffic signal.
Investigators say Phillips was driving north on Broadway around 2 a.m. Sunday when she ran the red light at the intersection with Highway 501, and hit a motorcycle on the side, throwing the rider off.
Captain Knipes said Phillips continued driving until she hit a building.
Police say the man on the motorcycle was transported to New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, where he is listed in serious but stable condition.
