Second suspect turns self in in shooting case

A suspect who was at large and considered to be armed and dangerous in connection with a shooting Sunday night in Wallace turned himself in to authorities Tuesday morning.

Charlie James Little Jr., aka Pook, 22, and Steve Gibson Jr., aka Gibb, both of Richmond County, N.C., are in custody.

The Marlboro County Sheriff's Office arrested Gibson on Monday in Richmond County with the help of Richmond County Sheriff's Office for charges stemming from a shooting Sunday morning.

Gibson has been charged with two counts assault and battery with intent to kill, assault with intent to kill, possession of a firearm by person unlawful and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.

At about 2:40 a.m., the Marlboro County Sheriff's Office responded to the Zone 3 Night Club on Highway 177, Wallace, in reference to a shooting.

Upon arrival, two security officers were found shot, one shot twice. Both were transported to Chesterfield General Hospital. During this incident, another security officer was shot at but not hit.

The investigation has led to the arrest of Gibson, who has a lengthy criminal record, according to the press release.

Gibson will have a bond hearing before a magistrate Tuesday.

The Zone 3 Night Club is located on the Marlboro and Richmond County, N.C. line.
