A single vehicle accident resulted in a fatality Thursday morning in Georgetown County.
Lance Cpl. Sonny Collins said the accident happened at the Highway 17 Bus. and Byp. split when the vehicle went off the left side of the road and hit the median.
The accident occured at 3:30 a.m.
Georgetown County Coroner Kenny Johnson identified the victim as 46 year old Melissa Kirk of Murrells Inlet.
Kirk was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
This accident remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
