For many families, a big part of Thanksgiving is looking forward to Black Friday ads that come out in the paper.
As one might imagine, preparing all of the bundles of ads takes quite a bit of work and preparation.
Officials at the Morning News production facility in Florence say this year's set of ads is bigger and better than ever.
Production Director John Barlow said his employees have worked around the clock to prepare the ads for their big debut.
"We have approximately 140 employees and we've worked them pretty much day and night the last six days, just to put all these packages together," Barlow said.
He said in all, the facility will produce about 33,000 packets, each packet consisting of 38 different inserts.
Barlow said it's the biggest packet he can recall in the paper's history.
"With the economy the way it's been, we're surprised at how big the package is and especially the weight of the package," Barlow said.
"The inserts are even bigger (than before) and the weights are like 25 pounds for just a bundle and it's very, very heavy," Barlow said.
Production facility officials say drivers will start loading the coveted papers into their trucks late Wednesday night.
They also say that all of the work that went into this year's ads will be well worth the outcome on Black Friday.
"I think the biggest thing you're gonna find is a lot of good sales this year," Barlow said.
"A lot of our retailers are really pressing for their sales so you're going to find a lot of good advertisements in this one... we're looking forward to Black Friday," Barlow said.
