I have noticed that the holiday season is in theaters around the world. One heartfelt movie to see is “Precious,” and another I heard of is “The Blind Side”; take the family out this holiday.
But why do we show love for each other at this time of year? This reminds me of what Pastor Thompson said at Bible study Wednesday night: that in olden days, people only got saved in the month of August and September. Why tradition; it was revival time at those months. So is this too a tradition.
People — Jesus is love, and it’s daily. Thanksgiving is daily.
Now, speaking of Thanksgiving, my family is doing something different this holiday; the Davis family is having Thanksgiving at my nephew’s home in Rock Hill. He is the son of our Sister Gwen Davis, he is Seneca Davis, and he is the latest college graduate grandchild of our mother’s children. My daughter, DeTwalla Brown, is the first graduated grandchild.
This young man found it not robbery to say, “I want my family in my home,” the way his grandmother, our mother, Lizzie Davis, always did. She always showed her love to family, friends and everybody. So this young man with two little girls shares what love is. “Family!”
So I say to my family: Live each day like it’s your last, put God first, and try to make a difference in this world. To my daughters: Find each other and hold on tight, let nothing separate you, make family memories love, and laugh a lot; you will cry, but the sun will shine after the rain.
To my grandchildren: Follow your hearts, for I feel greatness in your hug each time we embrace. Always remember family is most important; find your way to God. These are my holiday thoughts to my loved ones.
To my reader: This holiday, make it a special one for He is on His way back. I will continue to allow God to use me for these thoughts and writing or not of my own; that’s why there are times between — I have to wait on His hands before I can move mine.
I hope you keep the faith, for we must have it to move; the Bible says faith without works is dead. James 2:20. But faith working together with His works, and by works faith was made perfect? James 2:22. Thank you, Lake City News & Post. God bless.
Happy Holidays!
