HEMINGWAY— At a recent meeting of the Hemingway town council, members and town attorney, Greg Askins, discussed a zoning matter concerning a local resident wishing to continue operating a day care from within her home on a property not zoned for that purpose. After a meeting with the town planning commission held prior to the council meeting, several options were discussed by Askins and the council members, it was decided the ordinance would be reworked to accommodate the property, provided area residents be notified of the change and given the opportunity to object.
There was some discussion regarding roadway work needing to be done within the town limits. Lee said he would look into the several questions asked by council members regarding areas on Main Street and the railroad tracks on SC-261.
A second reading was held for the Muddy Creek phase four waterworks project. The item was unchanged and approved unanimously.
