The Horry County Police Department is investigating a bank robbery in the Socastee area of the county.
According to Horry County Police Sgt. Robert Kegler, the robbery happened at the Waccamaw Bank on Hwy 707 and Old Hwy 544 around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Witnesses told police a white male with a gray goatee, wearing black clothing and a hat entered the bank.
They said he then showed a silver handgun and demanded money.
The suspect fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money and was last seen going towards Hwy. 707 on foot.
The Horry County Police Department is asking anyone with information leading to the identity of the suspect to contact them at 915-5350 or 915-TIPS (8477) if they wish to remain anonymous.
