Florence-- A third armed robbery in Florence this weekend is being investigated by police.
At 6:50 a.m. Sunday morning, four individuals dressed in dark clothing and masks covering their faces entered the Kangaroo convenience store at 717 Second Loop Rd., said Maj. Carlos Raines with the Florence Police Department.
Two were armed with handguns and two had longer guns, either rifles of shot guns. The suspects were described as in their late teens or mid twenties with medium to slender builds.
They entered the store and approached an employee that was stocking shelves and made him empty his pockets and give them his wallet, Raines said.
Another employee was in the back, preparing for a shift change. The suspects approached her and made her surrender money from the safe in the back of the store.
They also took money out of the register.
An employee tried to run out of the store to get assistance but the four suspects were able to escape out the east side where a vehicle was probably standing by, Raines said.
Florence Police are investigating the connection between this robbery and two other armed robberies in Florence from Friday night and Saturday morning because the suspects had similar descriptions and carried similar weapons.
