The Williamsburg Technical College Student Initiative Program is accepting applications for spring 2010 enrollment.
The program helps local men and women between the ages of 16 and 21 acquire the necessary skills to obtain and retain employment that can lead them toward self-sufficiency. The target population includes those who are out of school and those without a high school diploma or GED.
Recruitment efforts for the program include making presentations to area residents and offering assistance in completing applications to enter Williamsburg Technical College as well as the program.
Many current students at the college are taking part in the initiative and are using the various services and training programs provided by partnering groups including Williamsburg County Adult Education, Black River Healthcare, Williamsburg County Alcohol and Drug Abuse, and Williamsburg Enterprise Community.
