Several local teachers were honored today for their hard work.
The Myrtle Beach Rotary Club handed out awards for excellence in education to six of its “teachers of the year” at Bonefish Grill.
This year's winners are Teresa Elswick, James Ellis, Kristin Hannon, David Williams, Elaine Decastro-Greenlief, Cathy Hall and the Horry County teacher of the year Georgia Holley.
“Every day I get up and I’m excited to go to school. I’m excited for my students and what we're going to be doing that day, so I think some of that comes through,” said Holley.
