Three people were injured after a crash on Interstate 95 in Dillon County on Monday morning.
At 8:50 a.m., a 1997 Ford Expedition traveling south lost control at the 180 mile marker, struck the guard rail and overturned several times, S.C. Highway Patrol Lance Cpl. Sonny Collins said.
The driver and two passengers were taken to an area hospital for treatment, he said. Their names and conditions weren’t available.
It doesn’t appear the road construction under way in the area contributed to the crash, according to highway patrol reports.
The S.C. Department of Transportation has implemented lane closures through 10 a.m. Thursday north- and southbound from mile marker 170 to 193 every calendar day for the rehabilitation of I-95 from north of S.C. 327 in Florence County to north of S.C. 9 in Dillon County, as well as the sealing joints on I-95 from Interstate 20 to north of S.C. 327.
Motorists can expect traffic delays. SCDOT crews have placed detour in the area for motorists seeking alternate routes.
