The Market Common area in Myrtle Beach continues to grow as two new businesses come to the shopping and dining complex.
One of the new businesses, Yoga in Common, wrapped up its grand opening weekend with a big turnout.
A construction business is also moving its offices to the Market Common.
It wasn't easy for Linda Phillips to relax when she decided to open Yoga in Common.
“It's a really risky time to open a business. It really is probably completely crazy, but at the same time it was completely sensible,” said Phillips.
Along with the new construction offices, it's a new business the Market Common hopes brings new people to its complex.
“It’ll definitely be a new customer base for market common and of course the people that like yoga and those types of activities will also like to come shopping and maybe come dining as well,” said Hatton Gravely, marketing manager at the Market Common.
“The Market Common was calling for this kind of studio. I think it's very important here in the Market Common to have lifestyle as part of the reason that people choose to live here,” said Phillips.
Gravely says other businesses have also looked into coming to the Market Common and she says having more lifestyle type businesses makes the area more attractive for people looking to buy or rent housing.
“That kind of lifestyle is something that people are definitely looking for. It's totally different than anything in Myrtle Beach, so I think it will continue to grow. I know across the street from me they're starting to break construction on some new single-family homes,” said Gravely.
