In a recent lab Johnakin Middle School science students tested liquids to determine whether they were acids or bases.

They used pH paper, red and blue litmus paper and even red cabbage juice as indicators to measure the pH of a variety of liquids.

The students now know how to read a pH scale and how to determine how acidic or basic a solution is.

They also now know about the harmful effects of acid.
