The city of Georgetown will receive a $2,250,000 federal grant for drainage improvements, U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., announced Monday.
The funds will be used for drainage improvements at U.S. 17 and Georgetown City Hall. The drainage area includes residential, commercial and industrial land uses.
The project aims to reduce frequent flooding and expand system capacities of flood hazard and storm water quality mitigation.
The grants were awarded by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency.
