Two Hartsville residents were arrested after a Thursday morning drug raid, according to a Darlington County Sheriff’s Office press release.

Charles Stukes, 22, of 422 Brewer Ave., and Shonda Samuel, 25, of 907 Lynnhaven Drive, each are charged with trafficking crack cocaine and simple possession of marijuana, according to the release.

The county’s combined drug unit conducted the search of Samuel’s residence, where they found nearly 22 grams of crack cocaine, 3 grams of marijuana and a small amount of cash, as well as what appeared to be a small-caliber hand gun that was later identified as a pellet gun.

“This case is still under investigation and we may have more charges on the two before it ends,” Sheriff Wayne Byrd said in the release.

The suspects remain in the Darlington County Detention Center awaiting bond hearings.
