Socastee High School students spent part of their day honoring senior citizens Thursday.
Nearly 200 people showed up for the school-sponsored Senior Citizens Appreciation Luncheon. This is the second year the Socastee students, in partnership with the Horry County Parks and Recreation Department, have held this for senior citizens in the area.
Some of the groups that participated were Future Farmers of America, the Student Government Association, Socastee High School Band and Chorus. The school’s ROTC also performed for those in attendance.
